At The Golden Tusk, sustainability is at the Heart of our operations and we keep engaging in progressive initiatives to lead us towards a future of better co-existence with the ecology and local communities. Some such initiatives:
Over 95% of the team comprises of the Natives in Uttarakhand, many of whom hold key designations in the organisation. Training, Cultural & Sports Events, Special Day Celebrations are some of the ongoing activities at the Golden Tusk
The resort engages local artists for cultural events, safari vehicles and even fulfils over 80% of its day-to-day operational requirement with local vendors.
ENGAGEMENT WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS & CHILDREN
Educational field trips, extracurricular competitions, scholarships, and celebrations of special days are some of the ways we try to stay in touch with the leaders of the future.
We use star-rated energy-saving appliances, power key tags, solar-powered lights and geysers that help us optimise our energy requirements. We also monitor & minimise consumption and recycling water to fulfil the majority of gardening water requirements.
Assisting local forest authorities with animal rescue, collaborating for visitor sensitisation programmes, rendering assistance for independent research works and monthly cleaning drives in the
village and bordering forest areas, and engaging with eminent conservation personalities are some of the practices that The Golden Tusk provides on conservation.
The Resort has a seamless process of segregating biodegradable & non-biodegradable waste which is further processed/disposed of as per recommended practices.
Informative signages and literature for guests at the resort explaining about the flora & fauna and the dos & don'ts around the park, celebrating ecologically significant days with guests like Wildlife Week, earth hour, village walks & interactions, and sustainable activities for children.
INVOLVING GUESTS IN OUR INITIATIVES
