Over 95% of the team comprises of the Natives in Uttarakhand, many of whom hold key designations in the organisation. Training, Cultural & Sports Events, Special Day Celebrations are some of the ongoing activities at the Golden Tusk

LOCAL VENDORS


The resort engages local artists for cultural events, safari vehicles and even fulfils over 80% of its day-to-day operational requirement with local vendors.

Educational field trips, extracurricular competitions, scholarships, and celebrations of special days are some of the ways we try to stay in touch with the leaders of the future.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY


We use star-rated energy-saving appliances, power key tags, solar-powered lights and geysers that help us optimise our energy requirements. We also monitor & minimise consumption and recycling water to fulfil the majority of gardening water requirements.

CONSERVATION


Assisting local forest authorities with animal rescue, collaborating for visitor sensitisation programmes, rendering assistance for independent research works and monthly cleaning drives in the
village and bordering forest areas, and engaging with eminent conservation personalities are some of the practices that The Golden Tusk provides on conservation.

WASTE MANAGEMENT


The Resort has a seamless process of segregating biodegradable & non-biodegradable waste which is further processed/disposed of as per recommended practices.

Informative signages and literature for guests at the resort explaining about the flora & fauna and the dos & don'ts around the park, celebrating ecologically significant days with guests like Wildlife Week, earth hour, village walks & interactions, and sustainable activities for children.

INVOLVING GUESTS IN OUR INITIATIVES


Initiatives to reduce plate food wastage, giving packaged drinking water a skip, reducing water consumption in bathrooms, reusing linen wherever possible, and following sound and light pollution guidelines are some of the many ways our guests join us in our sustainability endeavour.
